DESCRIPTION:  Second Biannual Conference of the Persian Manuscripts Association on "Timurid and Safavid 
Music in Manuscripts", Institute of Advanced Study, Princeton, 24-25 February 2024
This conference aims to bring together scholars from various fields, working on music, philosophy, theology, 
mysticism, history, literature and art history, as reflected in Persian and Arabic manuscripts. We would love 
to hear about your studies and discoveries about music, musicians, instruments, court repertories, 
performance practices, musical patronage, music circles etc., during the Timurid and Safavid periods in 
Greater Iran, Central Asia, South Asia and the Ottoman world.
