SUMMARY: Musical Heritage Across Borders
DESCRIPTION: International Conference: "Musical Heritage Across Borders – Materiality as an Indication of Distribution Channels", Hamburg, 28-30 May 2024The conference explores the materiality of manuscripts on music in Latin, Arabic, Persian, Ottoman Turkish and Chinese languages. By tracing the routes of distribution of musical and music-theoretical manuscripts, we gradually come closer to an overview of cultural exchange relations, even beyond the dependence on political conditions.
