Dear Alumni,

We are pleased to invite you to attend our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on June 16-18th weekend in Houston, with sessions on Saturday through Sunday. This is an opportunity to meet with fellow alumni, faculty members, and friends of the Institute to discuss the latest research, developments, and ideas in Ismaili Studies.

We are excited to confirm that we have three keynote speakers for the AGM: Dr. Fayyaz Vellani from the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Ali Asani from Harvard University, and Dr. Zahra Jamal from Rice University. We are still confirming additional alumni speakers and panelists; if you are interested in presenting or participating as a panelist, please contact us.

In addition, we are planning to have a banquet dinner on Saturday night with a guest musical performance from Irfan Sheen, a renowned musician in the Ismaili community. On Sunday, we will have a field visit to tour the grounds of the upcoming Ismaili Center Houston.

We believe this AGM will provide an excellent opportunity for you to meet with fellow alumni of the Institute to exchange ideas and network with one another.

To confirm your attendance, please register with this link by May 15th: https://forms.gle/R4S7WyaL9296AXR38. We have tried to ease the costs of attending by securing a room block in Sugar Land for $99 per night + tax, providing alumni flying in with transportation with the help of volunteers, and including the banquet dinner and refreshments in your registration for Saturday and Sunday. For more information about the AGM, please feel free to email us.

We look forward to seeing you in Houston.

Sincerely,

Naveed Nanjee and Nadir Wazir
