This talk looks at the role of nature and the environment and its significance to the geology, geography, religions and histories of the peoples of the modern Middle East. It will explore how new approaches and disciplines can open up new perspectives on understanding and conceptualising continuities and exchange over many centuries – and how this can help illuminate the study of the past.
