Aga Khan Library Lecture with Dr Karen Bauer

The Aga Khan Library is delighted to announce that the Aga Khan Library Lectures are returning for 2026. Join us on Wednesday 15th April at 4 pm in the ACR for:

Feeling, Thinking, and Moral Hierarchies: Reflections on the Qurʼan and Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility, with Dr Karen Bauer.

In this fascinating interdisciplinary lecture, Dr Karen Bauer explores the relationship between intellect, emotion, and moral action, drawing on two texts from vastly different historical and cultural contexts: the Qurʼan, from 7th-century Arabia, and Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility, published in England in 1811.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the Aga Khan Library Lectures.
