The International Intensive Online Summer School of Sufi Studies

About the program
The 2nd International Intensive Summer School of Sufi Studies will be hosted online due to the current pandemic conditions by the Üsküdar University Institute for Sufi Studies between 20-28 July 2020, with the support of the Kerim Foundation.
The MA-level TSV 571 Topics in Sufi Studies (3 credits - 6 AKTS) and PhD-level TSV 605 Topics in Sufi Studies (3 credits - 8 AKTS) will be offered within the context of the Online Summer School. The summer school aims to provide an intensive learning experience, supplementing theoretical courses with text readings (samples from Arabic, Persian and Ottoman Turkish) as well as music in order to provide as holistic an approach to Sufi Studies as possible in an online context. The program language is English.

- Mohammed Rustom, The Mystical Theology of ‘Ayn al-Qudat
- Emine Yeniterzi, A Panoramic View of Turkish Sufi Literature
- Reşat Öngören, The Adventure of Sufi Thought in Anatolia from the Seljukids to the Ottomans
- Yasushi Tonaga, Sufi Studies in Japan
- Ebrahim Moosa, al-Ghazali: Love, Longing, Intimacy and Contentment
- Cemalnur Sargut, Sufi Love
- Omid Safi, The Path of Love
- F. Cangüzel Güner Zülfikar, Sufi Thought in Practice
- Dilek Güldütuna, "Fuad Sezgin’s Magnum Opus" and "Sufi Conceptions of the Feminine"
- Omneya Ayad, The Early Pioneering Figures of Sufism: A Closer Look
- Eylül Yalçınkaya, Sufi Poetry and Music
