Aga Khan Museum Online Course: Word and Image in Islamic Art.
July 7–August 4, $50 (for all 5 sessions).
Immerse yourself in our newest digital learning experience—a dynamic five-week course that explores how artists from the inception of Islam in the 7th century to the present day have navigated between the visual and verbal realms to create spellbinding works of art. These live online sessions will provide students with an interactive experience and opportunities for post-session conversation with the course instructor, Museum Curator Dr. Michael Chagnon. Students can expect to learn about a wide range of topics, from the role of calligraphy on objects and monuments, to the text-image relationship in illustrated manuscripts, and word and image in Modern and
Contemporary Art. Spaces are extremely limited. Click the link to learn more or book your spot: https://agakhanmuseum.org/programs/word-and-image?utm_source=explore&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=wordandimage&utm_content=header
